In English:

Like in previous years, the Cultural Association "Valentin Ruiz Aznar" of Granada, Spain, temporarily yields to the City Council of Maracena part of the good Artistic Works awarded or selected in the International Contest of Fine Arts "Composer ANTONIO GUALDA", in this case, of his edition of 2008, so that this City Council, through its Council of Culture exposes them in its two Exhibition Halls during almost all the month of February of 2009, with the generic title upstairs expressed.
And this, continuing with our line of collaboration with City Council of Maracena, to that in the past month of July we had the taste to facilitate him that the OKAYAMA NIIBORI GUITAR ORCHESTRA of Japan came to give an extraordinary Concert, in the Concert Hall of the House of the Culture of this city.
This Exhibition, we believe, will lodge to 115 better Works than they concurred in the mentioned contest. Reason why we did not doubt that the sample will have qualities of great event in the city of Maracena, that as much comes worrying about the cultural diffusion from quality in the last years. The Work set is made up of Paintings, in diverse techniques, Engravings and some Sculptures. It is possible to emphasize that in this edition artists of countries added themselves that had previously not taken part in the event, such as Saudi Arabia, Denmark, South Korea, Pakistan, Belarus, Afghanistan and India. With the predominant tonic of countries like Mexico, Turkey (with an ample and excellent representation) Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, the United States, France, Italy and Spain. To a lesser extent, although with equal quality, they are present Works coming from Chile, Hungary, Ecuador, Uruguay, Russia, Montenegro, Holland, Portugal, Belgium, Mauritius Islands, the Ukraine, Kosovo, Bulgaria, Rumania, Peru, etc…
Absolutely, we are convinced that this International Contest of Fine Arts is most important in the world, within its sort. It does not exist, anywhere in the world, nothing that looks like to him, and that it is organized by a small deprived Cultural Association. Obvious it would be to say that much more great events of world-wide rank exist, but all those, and in all the cases, are sponsored and organized by state or semi-official organizations of diverse countries, that can make use of the many means that the different State Treasuries public can facilitate to them.
It can affirm, therefore, and without fear to ambiguity, that the Exhibition that is offered here is the Fair of International Art more important of the world, that it has been developed in origin by a small private association. And we spoke "small" only with regards the little material means which it has. Because it is very great in imagination, inventiveness and knowledge of the world of the Art, generally. The great power of call that has the contest of our Association, must to the intense intellectual work of a few of its members, that spend many hours to the year to this enormous work. Work that, in addition, needs the knowledge of five languages (four, besides the Spanish), to almost facilitate the understanding of the call to the artists of world-wide. We have here, then, the result of all that work developed in 2008.
On the other hand, we must put record of our moan, to the salary produced the death of our dear President, Lucia Martinez, in past June. She was the main coordinator of the contest. And that one is the reason for which there are subtitular beloved this International Exhibition thewith the legend "Lucia Martinez, IN MEMORIAM". Not only we cried their death, but also they do many of the offerers who took part from year 2004, to that she always took care of gentily. Then, it is not rare that several of these offerers, when knowing the fatal event, would hurry to dedicate, specifically, to Lucia Martinez, the Works with which would compete in 2008. What the visitors of the Exhibition will be able to verify in some titles of the Works that are exposed. And they have not been only Fine Arts Works, but, also, some poems that have been dedicated to her by the artists (to see the Web: http://literatyart.galeon.com/id33.htm ). Being thing to emphasize, also, more than 20 extensive articles that the daily press of 3 Continents (in countries such as France, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, Turkey or India) have dedicated to our dear Lucia Martinez.
We wish, then, that all the visitors of this important Exhibition of International Fine Arts enjoy contemplating the 115 Works of which consists. Simultaneously, we are thankful, once again, to the City Council of Maracena and its Council of Culture and people in charge of the two dependent Exhibition Halls of the same, its disinterested collaboration.
Aiming, finally, that the rest of Works awarded or simply selected in our Contest, will be, little by little, exposed in different International Exhibitions in different countries, as it became during 2007 in countries and cities like Canada, Brazil, Italy, Spain (emphasizing the Traveling Expo of Barcelona) or Paris.
